Can a cracked windshield be repaired or does it need full replacement? +
It depends on the size and location of the crack. Chips smaller than a loonie and cracks shorter than 15 cm can often be repaired. However, cracks in the driver's line of sight, or cracks extending to the edge of the glass, typically require full replacement. We'll give you an honest assessment — repairs are significantly cheaper when they're an option.
Does my car insurance cover windshield replacement in Ontario? +
Yes, in most cases. If you have comprehensive coverage on your auto insurance policy, windshield replacement is typically covered — often with no deductible for glass claims in Ontario. We work directly with most major insurers including Intact, Aviva, TD Insurance, and more. We'll help you file the claim.
How long does a windshield replacement take? +
A standard windshield replacement takes about 60–90 minutes. We use fast-cure urethane adhesive that allows you to safely drive your vehicle within an hour of installation in most conditions.
Do you offer mobile service in Byron, Komoka, and St. Thomas? +
Absolutely. Our mobile technicians travel throughout our entire service area including Byron, Komoka, St. Thomas, and Lucan. We come to your home, workplace, or any convenient location — no need to drive to a shop.
What if my vehicle has ADAS (cameras/sensors in the windshield)? +
Many newer vehicles have front-facing cameras for lane assist, automatic braking, and other safety systems mounted to the windshield. After replacement, these systems need to be recalibrated. We offer ADAS recalibration services — ask us about it when you book.
How do I stop a windshield crack from spreading before my appointment? +
Keep the crack clean and dry. Avoid drastic temperature changes (no blasting hot defroster on a cold windshield). Placing a small piece of clear tape over a chip can keep dirt and moisture out temporarily. Avoid highways and rough roads where vibration can worsen the crack. Book a repair as soon as possible — cracks spread quickly.
